– Jesus warns about greedy persons who “devour widows’ houses” and says “such persons will be punished most severely.” (Lk 20:47)
– Micah says they extort other people’s houses and lands because “it is in their power to do it.” (2:1)
– Jesus said that HOW WE TREAT THE POOR IS HOW WE TREAT HIM. Pretty serious. (Mt 25:40,45,46)
We do need to ask: Am I becoming numb? Am I thus less and less acceptable to Jesus?
